5 Day Lifestyle Challenge

Did you achieve all of your resolutions, dreams and the things you wished for in 2017?

Tomorrow is 1st January 2018. Do you know would you like to achieve in 2018 and how you will achieve it?  Are you starting 2018 the same way you started or ended 2017 and expect different results?

Many women start each January with the same New Year resolutions as the previous year. Here are examples of a few “This is going to be MY year!” or “I am going to make some BIG changes in my life.”  “This year I am going to………”  The list usually looks something like this:

  • Get fit or lose weight
  • Stop smoking
  • Fix my finances
  • Improve my relationships
  • Pursue a hobby
  • Make a career change
  • Spend more ‘me time’

Generally speaking, most New Year’s resolutions do not work because they are not made on the basis of sound goal setting.  In addition, to setting goals we have to change our thought process in order to identify the barriers that prevent us from living the life we really want.

How are you going to make 2018 the year that things will happen for you? You will have to decide. When we are going after something that we say we really want, we have to decide how much we really want it and let our actions reflect that desire.

Our actions are a reflection of our desire to achieve. Let’s look at one of the common resolutions listed above, stop smoking. Some people say that they want to give up smoking but never really take the necessary action or seek the support they need in order to stop smoking and as a result, each year quitting smoking becomes their New Year’s resolution. Although, we looked at smoking the same principle applies to any in the above list.

If we want a result, we have to equip ourselves with the tools to achieve that result. For example, if we want to bake a cake we have to ensure we have all the right ingredients, in the right quantities to make that cake.  It’s the same in life, we all want to have a good life, but are we using the correct ingredients to make the life we desire?

I know you want the best out of your life and the New Year is often a time we make the decision to make significant changes. But actually being successful and achieving our resolutions can be such rocky ride and often we give up. I know I have been there in the past and it was not until I learned where I was going wrong, changed my outlook, I was able to achieve breakthroughs and desires.
