How Are You?

How are you?

How many times are you asked that question on a daily basis?

Our usual responses are “I am fine thank you”, “I am ok” or “I am well”. These responses are typically automatic to many of us. And we tend to fire these responses back even when we are not fine, ok or well.

You see many of us do not answer that question honestly. But more importantly, how many times are you actually asking yourself that very same question? Are you really ok and fine with yourself and your life. Is life just ok or do you want more?

Let me ask you, if you had to score your life right now between zero and ten, ten being the highest, what would your score be?

In this post, I want you to quickly check-in with yourself.

In your notebook or journal write down the question, ‘How am I?’ And if you want a deeper experience with this question find a place with no distractions and stand or sit in front of a mirror, look into your eyes and take a few deep breaths whilst you ask yourself ‘How are you?’ or ‘How am I?’

This is a deep and powerful exercise that should not be rushed. Record in your notebook or journal what came up for you? How do you feel?

What do you want to change? Be as detailed and honest as possible.

Now that you know what it is you would like to change, you can start working through it. You may have a number of things that you would like to change. Be mindful not to focus too much on what you do not want but instead focus on what you want and desire.

Law of Attraction

I believe in the law of attraction. One of its principles is that your thoughts become things. Meaning, what you spend your time thinking about can manifest in your life. Often we focus too much on what we do not want, this inadvertently blocks us from moving forward, holds us back and will actually give us more of what we don’t want.

For example: Rather than telling yourself you do not want to be broke, which is filled with fear and negativity, flip that around to something more positive and tell yourself that you desire and deserve a life that is full of abundance.

Thoughts-become-Things

Try this exercise over the next week or so and start creating positive affirmations around your desires. Repeat this on a regular basis and start to see changes to your life.
